Eyes Up - Living with Heaven in Mind - Colossians 3:1

Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above,
where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.
— Colossians 3:1

Day 27

There’s something powerful about shifting your gaze. When we look down, we notice everything that’s wrong—the mess, the chaos, the distractions. But when we lift our eyes, we find clarity, hope, and purpose.

Paul's words in Colossians 3:1 are a beautiful reminder that our spiritual perspective matters. He reminds us that since we’ve been raised with Christ (not “if,” but “since”—it’s a done deal!), our focus should be heavenward. We’re not meant to keep living with our minds consumed by earthly worries. Instead, we are invited to align our hearts with the eternal—to live with heaven in mind.

This doesn’t mean ignoring our responsibilities or pretending that problems don’t exist. It means anchoring our perspective in Christ, who is seated in victory and authority at the right hand of God. When our hearts are set on Him, everything else finds its proper place.

It’s like tuning a radio—if you’re slightly off, all you hear is static. But when you tune in to the right frequency, everything becomes clear. Setting our hearts on Christ helps us tune out the noise of the world and tune in to the peace, wisdom, and purpose that come from Him.

So today, lift your eyes. Whatever you’re facing, let your gaze be fixed not on the mess around you, but on the Savior above you. Because you’ve been raised with Christ, and your life now finds meaning in Him.

Reflection Questions:

  1. What distractions are pulling your focus away from Christ right now?

  2. What does it look like for you personally to “set your heart on things above” today?

  3. How might your actions or mindset shift if you truly believed you were raised with Christ and seated with Him?
