Devotional on Prayer - Jeremiah 33:3

Welcome to July: A Month of Prayer

There’s something deeply personal about prayer. It’s more than words; it’s relationship. It's the way we reach out to the God who sees, hears, and knows us. This month, we are diving into 31 days of Scripture centered on prayer — from powerful promises to heartfelt cries, from Jesus' own prayers to the faithful petitions of others.

We begin with one of the most beautiful invitations in all of Scripture: “Call to Me, and I will answer you…”

“Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.” Jeremiah 33:3

Devotional Thought:

God isn’t hiding. He doesn’t sit in silence, waiting for us to have all the right words or the perfect tone. In Jeremiah 33:3, He invites us into a divine conversation: Call to Me. Not whisper to the wind. Not shout into the void. Call to Me.

And what does God promise in return? “I will answer you…”
That’s the heart of prayer — the assurance that when we reach out, God responds. He may not always answer in the way or timing we expect, but His response is always rooted in wisdom, love, and truth.

Even more, He promises to show us great and unsearchable things we do not know. In other words, prayer opens our eyes to the bigger picture — God’s perspective. When we make prayer a habit, we begin to see beyond the surface. We are drawn closer to the heart of our Creator, and we start to recognize His fingerprints on our lives.

Bible Journaling Prompt:

On your Bible page or prayer journal, write the words:
"Call to Me. I will answer."
Consider illustrating a phone, open hands, or a light shining into darkness — any image that reminds you God hears and responds.

Use today’s space to write a personal prayer, asking God to draw you into deeper conversation with Him this month.

Reflection Questions:

  1. How often do I call on God during my day? Do I only pray when I’m in need?

  2. What is something I’m seeking answers for that I can bring before Him today?

  3. Am I open to hearing God’s answer — even if it looks different than what I expect?

Sweet friend, prayer is a gift. It’s not a duty—it’s a delight.

God doesn’t just tolerate our prayers; He welcomes them.

Let this month be a time of discovery, intimacy, and spiritual renewal as you lean into His presence day by day. When you call, He will answer.

So today, start the conversation.

He’s already listening. 💛
