Abide in the Vine - Scripture Challenge - Day 15
We’ve reached the halfway point of our Scripture Challenge, and what a perfect verse to pause and reflect on the source of our strength, growth, and purpose. In John 15:5, Jesus offers an invitation—not to strive, but to abide.
There is something so comforting about the imagery Jesus uses here. The vine and branches aren’t separate—they are connected, growing together as one. The branch doesn’t try to produce fruit on its own. It simply remains attached to the vine, and the life-giving nutrients do the rest.
So often, we try to do life in our own strength. We set goals, make plans, and do our best to "bear fruit" through effort and discipline. But Jesus gently reminds us: apart from Me, you can do nothing. Not some things. Not a few things. Nothing.
When we abide—when we stay rooted in His love, Word, and presence—we don’t have to force growth. Fruitfulness becomes the natural result of the connection. We begin to see peace in our chaos, joy in our waiting, and strength in our weakness. Not because we are amazing, but because He is.
Let this verse encourage you today: stay close to the Vine. In Him, your life will overflow with fruit you couldn’t produce on your own.
Reflection Questions:
What does it mean for you personally to "abide" in Christ?
Are there areas in your life where you’ve been striving instead of resting in Him?
What kind of fruit have you seen when you’ve remained closely connected to Jesus?
How can you intentionally stay rooted in Christ throughout your day?
Today, take a deep breath and remember: you don’t have to do it all. You just have to stay connected. Jesus is the Vine—you are the branch—and in Him, you will bear much fruit.
Keep abiding, dear one. The fruit will come. 🍇💜
