Wonderfully Made: Worship Through Self-Worth - Scripture Challenge - Day 8
Here we are at Day 8 of our Scripture Writing Challenge! Each day, we’ve focused on how worship flows from a heart that sees God clearly. Today, we turn that lens inward as well. Psalm 139:14 is a powerful reminder that worship begins with understanding who we are in Him. Praising God for His creation includes praising Him for the way He made you—every detail, every quirk, every hidden part of your being. You are not an accident. You are His wonderful work.
David’s words in Psalm 139:14 are deeply personal. “I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made.” This isn’t vanity—it’s worship. Recognizing the intentionality with which God crafted each of us reflects our trust in His goodness and wisdom.
The word “fearfully” in Hebrew implies reverence, awe, and deep respect. God made you with holy attention and divine purpose. Every strand of DNA, every gift, every flaw—woven together in love. When we embrace this truth, our response can only be praise.
But let’s be honest—some days, it’s easier to believe we are flawed than fearfully made. The world bombards us with unrealistic standards. Our own insecurities whisper lies. Yet David declares, “I know that full well.” He knew—not just with his mind, but with his heart—that God’s works are wonderful, and that includes imself.
Worship isn’t just about lifting our hands—it’s also about laying down our self-doubt. It’s choosing to see ourselves through the lens of grace. When we begin to value ourselves as God does, we honor the Creator. You are a masterpiece that points to the Master.
As you meditate on Psalm 139:14 today, let it sink deep into your heart: you are wonderfully made. Speak it aloud. Write it on a sticky note. Let your worship rise, not in spite of who you are, but because of who God made you to be. And remember—when you praise Him for how He created you, you’re praising Him completely.
